Hello everyone, so I’m back with my normal tutorials again and the Christmas projects have been parked now until November.
Today I’m sharing this pretty 8 x 3 gift bag with heat embossed wood veneer detail.
I was looking through my craft accessories and came across all these Wooden Veneer sentiments and letters I had purchased from the Works back in April.
Although I love the natural wooden effect, for this project I wanted them white. I used some acrylic white paint and painted a couple layers and heat set them and then used my VersaMark and started building up layers with my Papermania Holographic Embossing Powder
I really love this effect, they turned out really nice.
To make the gift bag you will need…
2 pieces of 8 x 11 white card
Score along the 11′ side at 3
2 pieces of 4 x 11
Score along the 4′ side at 1/2 & 3.1/2
Score along the 11′ side at 3
2 pieces of 8 x 8 patterned paper if you have a 8 x 8 paper stack, to have a nice 1/8 border then cut your papers to 7.7/8 x 7.7/8 but this is optional.
As well as the wooden veneers I also die cut some flowers on white card 4 times and stuck them on top of each other to give them dimension, I used these to decorate the handles.
2 pieces of 12′ ribbon for the handles.
I always save the handles from my paper bags so used these for this project. I tried to look for anywhere selling the handles I used but I had no luck finding them to purchase separately.
Hope you like this pretty project from me today.
Happy crafting
Sam
