MIXED UP CRAFT

My first Easel cards

So all the cards I have been making up until now have been standard one fold cards, as lovely as these are I was getting bored and wanted to try other styles.

After scrolling through Pinterest I came across Easel cards, dead simple yet really eye-catching.

I was asked to make a birthday card for a friend so I did this style easel card first with an acetate back.

I used a standard 6×6 card and the coloured card was from the Pound Shop.

To make the string for the balloons I used Stampin Up ‘Jar of Love’ stamp set and matching framelits Shop, the embossing folder was from Hobby Craft Shop, the Happy Birthday die was purchased from eBay Shop and the balloon die and trim unfortunately I can’t remember where I purchased these.

These brads from the Pound Shop really finish the card off nicely.

The stitched detail is really cute.

I had also been asked to do an Anniversary card for a friend so continuing the Easel card theme I tried out a Twisted Easel card.

Again I used a standard 6×6 card.

This doily die is my favourite die, it cuts perfectly and is so detailed. Shop

My sentiments are from Stampin Up ‘Memorable Moments’ stamp set and the patterned paper, cardstock and pearl brad are all from the pound shop.

I used my simple circle dies from my nest of Sizzix dies. Shop

I just love the detail on this card so much.

Well after making these two cards I can happily say that I will be making a lot more of this style, its easy, quick and very striking.
