MIXED UP CRAFT

Gift Bag Week, Project Number 6

I made these very large gift bags a few months ago and thought they would be perfect to feature again this week. I’ve  changed these ones slightly by making them fold flat and they have a closure.

These bags are great to make with left over 12 x 12 scrapbook papers.

My papers used are by a Chinese brand Eno Greetings, I put all the details in my blog a few days ago, Project 4 of my Gift Bag week if you want to check it out but unfortunately I cant find them available to buy online.

These bags measure 12 x 8 x 4 so super big and perfect for Christmas presents, plus with them folding flat you can make them now and store away for later.

To make these gift bags you will need…

2 pieces of 12 x 12 card stock.

Score along one piece at 4′ and then the other piece at 4 & 6 ‘

2 pieces of card for the sides 6 x 12 or 6 x 11 5/8 in case you don’t want to use up all your 12 x 12 card.

Score along the 6′ side at 1′ & 5′

Score along the 12 or 11.5/8 side at 6′ & 8′ then rotate back onto 6′ side and score at 3 down to the 6′ score line. You will need to watch the video below as there is some more detailed scoring which is to long winded to write down but easy to do.

4 x 6 card for closure, score along 6′ side at 3′

2 pieces of 15′ ribbon for handles

4 brads to hold to ribbon in place.
