DIY Advent Calendar

I have been working on this for a couple of months making sure I got it exactly right.

The idea came from the ones me my sister & I used to get filled with chocolate. These were always in the kitchen or hung on the fridge. With 24 little boxes and then the big one at the bottom for the 25th, I’m excited to start using this at the start of December.

This is a day-long project, it’s not hard, there are just lots of elements to it, so patience is key!

To make this project you will need…

2 pieces of A4 cardstock 11.5/8 x 8.1/4 for the top and bottom.

2 pieces of 11.5/8 x 3 for the long sides.

Score along the 3′ side at 1/4,  1.1/4, 1.3/4 & 2.3/4 do this on both pieces.

2 pieces of 8.1/4 x 3 for the short sides.

Score along the 3′ side the same as above, then rotate onto 8.1/4 and score at 1/2 & 7.3/4 but only score to the second score line.

1 piece of 7.1/8 x 2.7/8 to support the centre.

Score along the 2.7/8 side at 1/4, 1.1/4, 1.5/8 & 2.5/8.

24 pieces of 4 x 4.5/8 for your boxes.

1 piece of 6.1/4 x 7.3/4 for your bigger box.

24 die cut squares 1.1/16 to stamp all your numbers on 1-24

Metal die 1.1/16 x 1.1/6 to cut out 24 squares on one of your A4 pieces of card.

Ribbon to hang (optional) 18′

Cutting knife.

Metal ruler.

You will need to watch the video below as there is a section where you need to measure and draw a grid on one of your A4 pieces of card.

I hope you like this big project, it was a huge labour of love for me, I still have some decoration to add once my Christmas accessories arrive but other than that I’m really pleased with this.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

Sam
