Hello everyone today I have my last Christmas project for you, there are still 3 days until the big day so time to squeeze in some last minute gifts.
Here is my explosion style gift box for 1 Christmas Bauble or Ornament this makes a perfect last minute gift and inexpensive as most of the sales have started now and you can pick up lovely Christmas decorations for great prices.
I’ve made this for another fellow expat friend here in China to remember our time here every time we hang it on the tree.
Usually, I’m looking for something not made in China but as I collect different tree decorations from every country I visit and live in this time I needed it to be ‘made in China!’
Its such a tacky Bauble which lights up but I love it!
To make this you will need…
1 piece of 12 x 12 patterned card stock or paper, if its single sided then you will want to decorate the inside with 4 pieces of 3.7/8 x 3.7/8, if you’re using paper these extra pieces will also make your box stronger. I used 160gsm ‘Love Santa’ 12 x 12 paper pack by Docrafts.
Score along 12″ side at 3″, 4″, 8″ & 9″ rotate the paper and repeat this scoring.
1 piece of white card 6 x 6 card to sit the bauble in.
Score along one side at 1″ then pull the card slightly from the side of the scoreboard and score at 5″
1 piece of 8.1/8 x 8.1/8 paper for the lid.
Score along one side at 1″ & 2″ then pull the paper out slightly from the side of the scoreboard and score again at 6.1/8 & 7.1/8, rotate your paper and repeat the same scoring again.
2.1/2″ circle die to die cut a circle for the bauble to sit in.
Tag & embellishments to decorate.
