Hi everyone, today kick starts my
Valentines Series 2018
Every day this week I will share a Valentines themed project.
I first did a Valentines series last year and you can find my YouTube playlist of those projects here. There are some lovely fun tutorials there which you may have missed as they were right back when I first started my YouTube channel & blog last year.
First up this week are these cute boxes with a Swivel lid opening.
These are so sweet and nice little keepsakes. Last year I made a square shaped one and a circular one and you can find both of those tutorials below.
To make these you will need…
A heart-shaped die measuring around 3.5/8 in width and height, bigger will be fine but no smaller else the box inside will be visible. My die is from Tonic Studios and you can purchase it here.
You will need to die cut this 3 times, twice on a piece of strong card which you will then stick together and then again on patterned paper of your choice. Repeat this process again so you have a lid and base.
1 piece of 8.1/4 x 4 card for the box.
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 2″,4″, 6″ & 8″
Score along the 4″ side at 2″&3″
1 piece of 3.7/8 x 1 card for the hinge to attach your lid.
Score along the 1″ side at 1/2″
Score along the 3.7/8 side at 1″ then pull the card slightly away from the side of the scoreboard and score at 3″
A brad to attach the lid and some embellishments and sentiment to decorate the box.
The papers I have used today are by Dovecrafts called XOXO and from last year, however, they now have out a new collection this year called Hearts & Crosses

These make wonderful keepsake trinket boxes and can be made in many sizes.
