Oriental Trinket Box

Hello everyone, it’s FRIYAY!!

Today I’m excited to show you these stunning Oriental Trinket Boxes.

Oriental Trinket Box

I decided to make these after purchasing the stunning Floral Fusion paper pack by First Edition. I got mine at The Range UK

The bit that really tops this project off for me is the metal edge detail. I purchased these book corner protectors last year but left them at my mum’s and totally forgot about them.

Here are a few links to some different styles.

eBay Silver round edges.

eBay Gold edges.

eBay Brass edges.

The above links are all from UK sellers, however, there are many more deals but they are from China and take a very long time to arrive.

To make these boxes you will need…

1 piece of 12 x 12 card for the inside box.

Score along one side at 2″, 4″, 8″ & 10″

Score along the other side at 2″, 4″, 8″ & 10″

1 piece of 4.1/2 x 10.1/2 card for the main case.

Score along the 10.1/2 side at 4.1/4 and then pull the card out slightly from the edge of the scoreboard and score at 6.3/8

2 pieces of 4.1/4 x 4 pattern paper to decorate the top and inside lid.

1 piece of 3.7/8 x 3.7/8 pattern paper to decorate the inside of the box.

Save the scrap pieces of card you have after cutting the 12 x 12 piece as you will use these pieces for the feet. Take 2 pieces of the 2 x 2 squares which is what you will have left over, score at 1″ on one side and then 1/2″, 1″ & 1.1/2 on the other.

4 metal book protectors (optional)

Pillars.

Ribbon (optional)

Check out my tutorial below to see how I made them.

I’m so so pleased with how they turned out and how strong they are.

I made a similar one last year for my Mother’s Day series 2017, this is a 6 x 6 box.

As I mention in my tutorial these will make a great gift box for that very special gift or if you don’t add the ribbon they make great little storage boxes for all your little trinkets.
