MIXED UP CRAFT

Pop Up Flower Card

Hello everyone and welcome to the start of my Creative Card Series 2018.

I know a lot of you enjoy it when I do a card series so I hope you won’t be disappointed with this one.

Over the next 2 weeks, every other day I will be sharing a different fun fold card, something that makes you go “Wow” when it’s opened.

First up is an updated version of last years Easy Pop Up Card, this

Very Easy Flower Pop Up Card

Pop Up Flower Card

Last years version was so popular, its one of my highest viewed tutorials ever!

If you missed last years Crative Card Series you can find my playlist here.

This one has been simplified yet still packs a punch.

Pop Up Flower Card

I really enjoyed making all the flowers, stamping out my leaves and distressing everything. The mix of the vibrant pink, orange & curry yellow really works well together.

The plain front of the card gives the belly band the perfect background to stand out.

To make these cards you will need…

1 piece of 7″ x 10″ cardstock scoring along the 10″ side at 5 to make your 5″ x 7″ card base or a 5″ x 7″ pre-made card base.

1 piece of 9.1/2 x 6.1/2 white card for you pop up mechanism.

Score along the 9.1/2 side at 4.3/4.

Next, fold the white paper in half with the folded side facing you and the card in the landscape position. You now want to mark with a pencil & ruler at every 1/2″ so that you have 12 pencil markings. Then mark an as shown below.

Turn your card to portrait position and with the folded side on your left, you want to mark with a pencil at 3/4″ & again at the opposite side, then join these to marks together by drawing a line with your ruler from one end to the other.

Then mark again at 1.1/4 with you card still in portrait position and again mark at the opposite end and join these marks up.

Then mark one further time at 1.3/4 and repeat the same process.

You should now have something that resembles the picture below.

You will need a selection of flowers and leaves to decorate, I added my favourite Hobbybase Butterfly die in the middle.

For the belly band, you need one piece of A4 or 12″ length by 2″ or whatever you want really. Some die cut circles for your sentiment and to hold it all together.

Check out my full tutorial below for more detail on how I made them.

I do love a belly band and think this one is so cute.
