MIXED UP CRAFT

Stunning Mini Album

Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and managed to squeeze in some crafting.

I have this stunning Mini Album to share today which I’m so pleased with.

Stunning Mini Album Tutorial

I have made many albums over the years but since moving abroad I haven’t made any to big due to us moving every few years. This one is an 8 page 6.1/2 x 4.1/2 album with top pull out photo mats giving you 8 more sides to fill with photos or journal on.

I have now filled mine with the photos I had planned for the album and share some of these filled pages at the end of this blog.

I used the Docrafts, Papermania “Freshly Cut Flowers” collection. I purchased the A4 Ultimate Die-cut & Paper pack along with the 12 x 12 Paper Pack

This collection is beautiful and the papers are simply gorgeous.

I like to protect the edges of my albums so I use metal corner protectors. These are available on eBay & Amazon. I purchased mine a long time ago but if you just type in “Metal Corner Protectors” or “Metal Book Corners” you will see lots.

I also used my snaps for the closure. These are usually used with fabric however lately I’ve been using mine in my paper craft and really liking the results.

I purchased mine early last year and it’s still available on eBay.

To make this album you will need…

To make the case

2 pieces of  6.1/2 x 4.1/2 & 1 piece of 2″ x 6.1/2 of good chipboard, I use the chipboard from the back of my 12 x 12 paper packs but you can also use cereal boxes but I would stick 2 pieces together to make it stronger.

1 piece of 12″ x 7.1/2 cardstock for your main cover.

1 piece of 11″ x 6.1/4 cardstock to cover your inside.

To make the hinges & pages

1 piece of 4.1/2 x 5.3/4, score along the 4.1/2 side at every 1/2″

4 pieces of 8.3/4 x 6″ for your pages. Score along the 8.3/4 side at 4.3/8.

To mat all your pages you will need 8 pieces of 4.1/8 x 5.3/4

For your photo mats that will come out of each page, you will need 4 pieces of 3.3/4 x 5.5/8 card then to mat all of these you will need 8 pieces of 3.3/8 x 5.3/8 pattern paper.

8, 1″ circles to stick at the tops of every photo mat to help you pull them out. I used silver mirri card for this.

Below are the measurements for each design on my pages. Remember you will need to double all of the amounts I mention as I have 2 of the same page in the album.

1st Page

This took me a whole day to make but I enjoyed every minute.

Stunning Mini Album Tutorial.

The pictures below are from my sister’s wedding, she had a brilliant Photo Booth and I’ve had all the pictures stored in an envelope since 2015!!! it’s been fun to look back through them and lay them all out in the album, it was such a great day.

I still need to do a little journaling on each page but I think it looks great!…and yes, that’s me with a horse’s mask on!

As always I hope you have enjoyed this Mini Album tutorial from me and remember to share any of your versions over on my Facebook page Mixed Up Craft.

Happy Crafting
