MIXED UP CRAFT

Perfect DIY Storage Box Idea

Hi everyone, as a lot of you know I moved house last month so I had to pack up my old craft room! During transit, some of my craft stuff got moved around and jumbled up and my 6 x 6 papers were all over the place. I’ve since sorted them all out and come up with this much better way to store them.

I love how this came together and have since made more!

This is very straightforward to make and you don’t need any fancy tools.

You will need…

2 pieces of 5″ x 6.1/4 chipboard for the front and back of your box. I use the strong chipboard that is on the back of my 12 x 12 paper packs. This particular chipboard was 1mm

2 pieces of 3″ x 5″ chipboard for the sides of your box.

1 piece of 3″ x 6.1/4″ chipboard for the base of your box.

1 piece of 7.1/2 x 7.1/2 chipboard for your main base.

1 sheet of 12 x 12 pattern paper. From this you need to cut it in half so you have 2 pieces of 12 x 6 then cut these along the 12″ side at 7.3/4 so you then have 2 pieces of 6 x 7.3/4 and 2 pieces of 6″ x 4.1/4

1 piece of 9.1/4 x 9.1/4 pattern paper to cover your base.

My metal corner protectors are 4mm x 18mm sides and you can find hundreds of styles on Amazon and eBay.

For your dividers, you will need 6″ x 7″ card as many as you need. If you don’t have the divider die I use then cut your card to 6″ x 6.1/8, and follow the advice I give in the tutorial.

The file dies were given to me but if you search for “file” dies you will find similar on eBay & Amazon.

A Laminator and laminating pouches to seal your card, this is optional. My Laminator is the Bonsaii 407 available on Amazon.

I use my Brother P-Touch D210 machine.

The papers I used are from the First Edition “Let’s Celebrate” collection.

I finished it off with some pom pom trim and an inspirational quote stamp from Fiskars by Lia Griffith.

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.

It’s the extra details for me that bring this all together, like the metal corners and dividers.
