MIXED UP CRAFT

Mini Album

Hey everyone, yesterday I shared another pretty mini album, this is a 7.1/2 x 5.1/2 one with 12 pages, so plenty of room for lots of photos.

This has been constructed in a similar same way as the smaller 8-page one I made a few weeks ago, you can find the tutorial for that one here.

This one is a gift, I still have a lot to add to this and I’m personalising it, but didn’t want to share that as it will give away who it’s for.

The papers and some of the embellishments used are from the Docrafts “Freshly Cut Flowers” collection.

This is a really great pack and full of A4 papers, decoupage, die-cuts, vellum, bows, gift boxes and stickers. I’ve found it on sale here.

I love the decoupage sets and finished with the gold foiling, they really look pretty.

Every page has a side pocket with a picture mat for more photos.

Every page has a sheet of vellum in between, this helps your photos not sticking together and protects any embellishments.

I have protected all the corners with gold metal corner protectors, this will strengthen your album and help it last a very long time.

To make this album you will need…

2 pieces of 5.1/2 x 7.1/2 chipboard for your front and back, I used 2mm thick board.

1 piece of 3″ x 7.1/2 chipboard for your spine.

2 pieces of 6.1/2 x 9.1/2 pattern paper to cover the front and back.

1 piece of 5.1/2 x 9.1/2 pattern paper to cover the spine.

2 pieces of 6″ x 7″ pattern paper to cover the inside front and back.

1 piece of 2.3/4 x 7″ pattern paper to cover the inside spine.

1 piece of 7.1/2 x 7″ white card for your hinges. Score along the 7.1/2 side at every 1/2″.

6 pieces of 8.1/4 x 5″ white card for your pages, score along the 8.1/4 side at 1/2″ and 7.3/4

6 pieces of 5″ x 7.1/4 white card for your pages.

6 pieces of 7.1/4 x 5.3/4 vellum to protect your photos, score everyone along the 5.3/4 side at 1/2″.

12 pieces of 4.3/4 x 7″ pattern paper to mat all of your pages.

6 pieces of 4.3/4 x 7″ white card for your photo mats.

12 pieces of  4.3/4 x 6.3/4 coloured paper to layer on top of your white card.

12 pieces of 4″ x 6.1/4 pattern paper to layer on top again.

My corner protectors are from eBay and measure 29 x 29 x 5 mm.

The gold gilding flakes I used are from a local shop in the UK called Bastins, however, if you type in Gilding Flakes on any of the well-known craft store websites you will find them. Heres a link to a 200ml tube on Craft Stash.

I used embellishments, paper flowers, decorative hardware and paper flowers to decorate the cover.

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.

You can decorate the pages however you like, I mainly made tuck spots from the decoupage sets in the kit.
