Hi everyone, today is the start of my Christmas Workshop 2018.
This is the second year now and I’m excited to share my Christmas projects with you over the coming week.
First up are these beautiful Bookatrix Christmas Cards.
I have received many requests to make one of these without needing a board or specialty dies, I always like to find ways to make fancy cards in the most simple way, so hopefully, you find these easy to make.
Designed to look like an open book and presented in a matching envelope gift bag.
These can be made any size and in any theme you like, I can imagine these will look beautiful as wedding cards.
I used the Helz Cuppleditch “Christmas Village” papers and matching decoupage kit by Trimcraft and some bells and ribbon from my own stash.
I adore this collection and you will see me using it a lot for this year’s projects.
To make these cards you will need…
1 piece of 10.1/2 x 7″ for your largest card base.
Score along the longest side at 5″ & 5.1/2
1 piece of 10″ x 6.1./2 for your page layer.
Score along the longest side at 4.3/4 & 5.1/4
1 piece of 9.1/4 x 6″ for your other page layer.
Score along the longest side at 4.3/8 x 4.7/8
1 piece of 8.1/2 x 5.1/2 for your smallest top page layer.
Score along the longest side at 4″ & 4.1/2
1 piece of 9.1/2 x 6.1/2 to cover the back of your card for your message.
1 piece of 10″ x 7″ or a pre-made 5″ x 7″ card blank for your stand.
2 pieces of A4 cardstock for your envelope gift bag.
Score along 3 of the sides only at 1/2″
The twisted ribbon rope handles I used are re-used from a shopping bag but you can buy the handles here.
The stamp verse I use was free from an old Creative Stamping magazine.
Ribbon, bows, and bells to decorate.

As I mentioned above it’s all the little details that really bring the book to life.
The envelope gift bag fits this size perfectly and the bag is also a good size for a picture frame due to its slim shape.
How cute is that decoupage scene!
You don’t have to make the stand for these cards as I’ve seen many without, however, I think it finishes off the card perfectly.
