Floating Pop Box Card

Hi everyone, on Monday I shared how to make these fun Floating Pop Box Cards.

I had had this design hidden away after first making it last year! The strip of acetate through the middle makes anything you stick on it float and pop out from the card creating a really nice effect.

I first made this Sailor one which is still my favourite.

This wonderful stamp set was free with a Creative Stamping Magazine Issue 43

I just love that Sailor image so much.

Next, I made this pretty Birdcage version using the Dovecraft “Nature’s Grace” collection.

I loved this collection so much and think this style card worked so well showing off all the pretty papers and embellishments.

After sorting through all my handmade cards and finding this style that I hadn’t shared, I then made this Christmas version using the First Edition “Jolly Holiday’s” papers.

I fussy cut the crackers and sentiments from one of the papers in the pack.

This is such a fun style card and will work for any occasion card.

To make this cards you will need…

1 piece of 12″ x 6″ cardstock for your card base.

Score along the longest side at 2.7/8, 5.3/4, 8.5/8 & 11.1/2

2 pieces of 2.5/8 x 5.1/2 plain cardstock to mat the inside back of your card.

2 pieces of 2.3/8 x 5.1/4 pattern paper to layer on top of your mats.

1 piece of 5.1/2 x 5.1/2 plain cardstock to mat on the front of your card.

1 piece of 5.1/4 x 5.1/4 pattern cardstock or paper to layer on top of your mat.

A 4″ circle die cut and a smaller 3.3/4″ circle die cut. These are approximate sizes but I would go any larger than the 4″ one.

1 piece of 4.3/4 x 3/4″ clear acetate.

All of these cards fold completely flat and fit into a 6″ x 6″ envelope, you also have plenty of space on the back of the card to stamp your sentiment and write your message.

I also made this simplified version using just coloured cardstock and just mat and layering the inside back panels.
