Hi everyone, today I’m sharing a Christmas Advent Pocket Letter.
Pocket Letters are a fun way to sent small gifts and mini-notes to friends and family.
This has evolved from pen palling which I used to do a lot as a child.
Most common Pocket Letters are a clear plastic 9 pocket A4 style and these can be purchased online. I prefer making mine from paper as I used to do something similar many years ago.
This is a 24 pocket “Pocket Letter” however if you would rather you have 25 days you can easily as another envelope pocket on the side.
I used the First Edition “Jolly Holidays” papers from Trimcraft and fussy cut all the images from the same papers.
I made a 9 pocket version about 3 months ago if you would prefer something smaller.
You fill them with tags, embellishments, ribbons, washi tape, note cards, money, scratch cards, letters etc…
Opening up a pocket letter and revealing all the pockets filled with goodies is so much fun, you can make these for any occasion and personalise them especially for that special person.
To make these you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 12″ cardstock for the main part of the Pocket Letter.
Score along one side at 3/8″, 7/8″, 4.3/8, 4.3/4, 8.1/4 & 8.1/2
Score along another side at 4″ & 8″
1 piece of 5″ x 12″ cardstock for the extended part of the Pocket Letter.
Score along the short side at 5/8″ & 1.3/8
Score along the long side at 4″ & 8″
1 piece of 3.1/2″ x 12″ cardstock
Score along the longer side at 4″ & 8″
2 pieces of 3.1/2 x 12″ pattern paper for your flap closure.
24 pieces of 5.1/4 x 5.1/4 pattern paper for your envelopes. Using the Envelope Punch Board you need to first punch at 2.3/8
24 pieces of 3.1/4 x 3.3/4 white cardstock to stick all your pockets onto.
Velcro Dots to close all the envelopes.
Ribbon, String, eyelets, die cuts etc to decorate your pocket letter.
