Hi everyone, I’m slowly working my way through sorting my photos and adding my favourites into their own unique albums.
I’ve recently made this very chunky Envelope Mini Album for some photos of my time living in Malaysia.
This is a lovely keepsake and I can’t wait to fill it!
This one has 8 pages, each holding 11 photos, although you can add more photo mats and more pages.
Every page is made from 2 envelopes, I used 6″ x 6″ but you can use any size you like, as this album is easy to adapt.
Above you can see the 8 pages and below you can see all of the photo mats on each of those pages.
The 2 mats at the very front will hold 4″x 4″ photos, the 2 side photo mats will hold 4.1/2″ x 4.1/2″ photos and the top photo mat will hold 4.1/2 x 5″
I used the Paper Addicts ‘Tropical Bliss’ papers and mixed in some of the First Edition ‘Botanical Beauty’ papers.

The binder rings are 3″/ 83mm diameter and I got them from eBay here.
I tied some ribbons and hung a charm around mine.
To make this album you will need…
For the front and back cover
2 pieces of 6.7/8 x 6.5/8 chipboard. Mine is from Every Crafts A Pound.
I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes, available from Amazon here.
2 pieces of 8″ x 8″ pattern paper to cover the front and back covers.
2 pieces of 6.1/2 x 6.5/8 plain or pattern paper to cover the inside of the front and back cover.
My metal corner protectors are 15mm. I got them from eBay here.
To make 1 page
2 pre-made envelopes, I used 6″ x 6″ size, the exact measurement was 6.1/8 x 6.1./8
2 piece of 5.1/4 x 5.7/8 pattern paper to cover the front and back of the envelope page.
2 pieces of 1/2″ x 5.7/8 pattern paper to decorate both sides of the page.
2 pieces of 4.1/2 x 4.1/2 white card for the 2 front photo mats.
4 pieces of 4.1/4 x 4.1/4 pattern paper to cover the photo mats.
1 piece of 5.1/8 x 5.3/4 white card for the top photo mat.
2 pieces of 4.7/8 x 5.1/2 pattern paper to cover both sides of the photo mat.
2 pieces of 5.1/4 x 5.3/4 white card for the side photo mats.
4 pieces of 5″ x 5.1/2 pattern paper to cover the photo mats.
Mirrored cardstock to punch silver circles for the tabs on the photo mats.
I used my 1″ circle punch from Hobbycraft
All of the above measurements to make 1 page you will need to multiple depending on the number of pages you want to make. You will need to adjust the binder ring size if yours doesn’t have as many pages as mine.
Check out my full tutorial below.
I added things I had collected from Malaysia to decorate the front.
A great way to document your memories and remember those special moments.
Thank you for stopping by.
Happy crafting

I’ve yet to make any kind of album! It reminds me of scrapbooking and I’m not a scrapbooker at all. This is really interesting with all the pockets and various papers you can use. I bet this would be a great craft fair item. Course it could be a little pricey, but I’d make one & see how it goes. It’s not difficult to make. For me it would be the papers and having the same color combinations. But guess it wouldn’t make any difference as long as the covers are coordinated.
