Hello crafters, today I’m sharing this pretty Sliding Flip Page Card.
This card wasn’t planned and kind of evolved from my Waterfall Card.
To look at it looks like a standard fold card but the clever sliding mechanism allows the top flip page to stand up.
I wasn’t sure about it at first, but once I decorated it, I’ve really started to like it, and I like that it’s different!
I used the beautiful Ocean Breeze papers from The Paper Boutique which are available from Craft Stash here.
Living by the sea I’m always drawn to nautical themed papers and these pretty feminine ones really caught my eye.
The illustrations are beautiful and I love that everything matches perfectly.
I used my Hunkydory Fancy Edge Tag Punch from Craft Stash here.
o make these cards you will need…
Any size card blank, I used a 5″ x 7″ size cut from a piece of 10″ x 7″ and scored along the 10″ side at 5″
I ended up adding a mat and layer to my card off-camera at the end, which you can see in my photos.
My peach coloured mat is 4.3/4 x 6.3/4 and my patterned layer is 4.1/2 x 6.1/2
For the mechanism, I used a piece of 2.1/2 x 8.1/4 white cardstock, you want something strong, I used 300gsm.
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 4.1/2 & 5″
1 piece of 3/4″ x 5.1/2 white card to wrap around the mechanism.
2 pieces of 3.3/8 x 3.3/8 for the flip pages.
3 pieces of 3.1/8 x 3.1.8 for the toppers to layer on the pages.
Ribbons and embellishments to decorate.
Check out my full tutorial below.
I continued the theme of the card inside by covering the whole area with some of the decorative papers.
This paper pad works well for both male and female cards and has lots of sentiments for many occasions.
You can have any size card you want, and you don’t have to but this on a card, it would be great as a gift tag, stuck on a gift bag or box or even used on a page in a mini album.
I hope you enjoy today’s tutorial and have a wonderful week.
Happy crafting
Sam
