Tricorn Style Fold Card

Hi everyone, you know I like to create unusual “out of the box” cards and I think I’ve managed that with today’s design.

I’ve called these Tricorn Style Fold Cards, and that’s down to my dad because when I showed him he said it reminded him of a Tricorn hat!

If you’ve never heard of this style hat before and not seen the TV Drama Poldark then here’s what they look like.

I used the lovely Forever Free paper pad by First Edition. Available from Amazon.

The Holographic cardstock is by Dovecraft and also available from Amazon.

The other thing I love about this fold is the different ways it can be displayed and how they look completely changes.

I really love how it came together and how well it works as a greeting card.

The back is very different with 4 sides to stamping and write you’re greeting.

It also folds completely flat making it easy to post.

To make these cards you will need…

1 piece of 6″ x 8″ card stock. I used my Papermania Colossal Collection cardstock available from Amazon 12″ x 12″ Pack

Score along the 8″ side at 2″ & 6″ then flip the cardstock over and along the 8″ side score at 4″. By flipping the cardstock over you will prevent cracking when folding your card.

2 pieces of 1.3/4 x 5.1/2 mirrored cardstock to mat on the two front sides of your card.

2 pieces of 1.1/2 x 4.7/8 pattern paper to layer on top of your mats.

4 pieces of 1.3/4 x 5.1/2 white cardstock for the 4 back panels.

1 piece of 1.1/4 x A4 or 11″ length cardstock for your rosette. Score along the long side at ever 1/4″

Check out my full tutorial below for more scoring measurements and to see how I put them together.

I would love to know what you think and whether you prefer it displayed in portrait or Landscape orientation.

These will work for so many occasions and great for masculine cards as well.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy crafting

Sam
