Hi everyone and happy Monday.
To kick start the week I have this pretty Flap Over Gift Bag.
I adore this, it’s similar to the Satchel Style Gift Bag I shared last month but this time I’ve made the box bigger extended the closure and added some decorative hardware.
The pattern paper I used is from the gorgeous ‘A Touch Of Romance’ paper pack by The Paper Tree and is available from Craft Stash here.
These metal rings are actually curtain rings, I picked them up from a charity shop for £1.
I’m pretty sure a lot of you will have something similar lying around, but please don’t go removing them from your actual curtains!!! hahaha
Mine were approximately 1.1/2″ diameter and I’ve found lots online here.
The die I used is by Gina Marie, it’s an old one and I can’t find it available online.
The butterflies I used are from The Works (I think!) they may be from Poundland.
The box is really big inside and a good project on its own. It measures 3″, 8.1/2 x 5.1/2
To make this gift bag you will need…
1 piece of 8.1/2 x 12″ pattern paper for the closure.
2 pieces of 12″ x 12″ cardstock for the box.
Score both pieces along one side at 1/2″ & 9″ then rotate and score at 3″, 8.1/2 & 11.1/2
1 piece of 2″ x 8.1/2 cream cardstock to reinforce the flap.
Score along the 2″ side at 1″
2 pieces of cardstock to attach the metal rings.
Velcro dots, mine are the strong 20mm ones from the Dot & Dab range available here.
The cream cardstock I used is from the Dovecraft Premium Textured Cardstock available here.
Check out my full tutorial below.
I love how everything matches yet it’s all from different companies.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Have a great week
Sam
xoxo
