Hi everyone, today I’m sharing this very sweet satchel gift bag.
I adore this gift bag and really enjoyed making it. I love all the details and the faux stitching all around the edges.
I used the Summer Dreams paper pack from the works. It’s a bargain for £3!

It’s a nice size gift bag measuring 3″ x 6″ x 6″ I added a locking closure so that nothing falls out and it has a nicer finish.
I used my metal ‘D’ rings to make it look like a real bag and finished it off with a tassel chain.
The gingham ribbon and bow worked perfectly with this beautiful floral print.
I used a white Posca pen to create the faux stitching, you can get these pens from Amazon here.
To make this gift bag you will need…
2 pieces of 7″ x 9″ pattern paper for the front and back.
Score along the 7″ side at 1/2″ & 6.1/2
Score along the 9″ side at 3″
2 pieces of 3″ x 12″ coloured paper for the sides.
Score along the 12″ side at 2″ & 8″
I piece of 6″ x 9″ coloured card for the flap.
Score along the 9″ side at 1″
1 piece of 5″ x 12″ pattern paper to cover the flap.
1 piece of 9.1/2 x 1.1/2 coloured cardstock for the strap.
1 piece of 1″ x 6″ pattern paper to cover the strap.
2 pieces of 2″ x 5/8″ pattern paper for the sides to connect the ‘D’ rings. Your sizes may vary depending on the size of the ‘D’ rings you use.
Stitched oval dies for the strap, I used a 2″ and 1.1/2 size.
I also used the Card Making Magic Oval Nesting Dies to shape my flap/lid. These are available from Craft Stash here.
Magnets, mine are 16mm-1/2″ Rare Earth ones. There are many sellers on eBay & YouTube, I’ve shared one link here.
The ‘D’ rings are 25mm. I got mine from The Works but they have sold out online, however, I’ve found some others here.
