Living in China I constantly see beautiful gift boxes and packaging and it fills me with so much inspiration and new ideas…food shopping has become fun again!
I sat down with my trusty score board and some copy paper and came up with this cool Orb looking gift box.
I used a real mix of products to make these and super pleased with how well they turned out.
To make these beautiful boxes you will need…
1 piece of A4 card measuring 11.5/8 x 8.1/4
Score along 8.1/4 side at 1.1/2 & 6.3/4
Score along the 11.5/8 side at 5/8 & 5.1/8 down to the first score line then 5.3/4 all the way down, then 3.3/8 & 4.7/8 down to first score line, then 5.1/2 all the way down, then 6.1/8 & 7.5/8 down to first score line, then 8.1/4 all the way down, then 8.7/8 & 10.3/4 to first score line and then 11′ all the way down.
Then flip the card over so the opposite 11.5/8 side is at the top and repeat the same scoring as above.
You then need to follow my video below to do the curved scoring.
I used my lovely Docrafts Folk Floral stamp set and Stampin Up Jar of Love stamps for the sentiment.
The large flower was made using my Stampin Up Succulent framelits, these are now retired but being sold on Ebay and FB Stampin Up selling pages.
Check out my full tutorial below.
This is a labour of love with lots of scoring but its so worth it for that special gift.
Let me know what you think.

Hi can you confirm the measurements on the long side they don’t make sense you go from 5/8 TO 1ST SCORE like then 5 1/8 to first score line then 5 3/4 all the way down then 3 3/8 to 1st score line…doesn’t really follow. Thx L
Like so many of your other creations this is absolutely stunning, Sam, TFS, Jutta
Hi Lorraine, the actual scoring I do is correct however for some stupid reason I say after 5/8 of an inch 5.1/8 when it should be 2. 1/8 and 2. 3/4 then 3. 3/8 going to edit now, so sorry x
Hi thanks… I listened to the whole thing and realised I could get the measurement drrrrr….- lesson – listen to all the tutorial. Now all good here now. Orb box made – love it. Thanks Lorraine
Ahh thanks you for your kind words Jutta, glad you like it. x
