Hello everyone, this blog post marks the start of my Creative Card Series.
Over the next 2 weeks, I will be sharing with you my favourite greeting cards. Every card I share will have some kind of mechanism and I have made sure, with lots of research that they are easy to follow.
To kick-start this fortnight of wonderful cards I have this fun
Twist & Pop card
I watched so many YouTube videos for this one, some of them scared me with how complicated they were making the mechanism!
After lots of playing around and experimenting, I have come up with this lovely 6 x 6 version.
To make this card you will need…
12 x 6 card for the main outer shell.
Score along the 12′ side at 6′
8 x 3.1/2 card for the mechanism
Score along 8′ side at 4′ & put a notch at 2.1/4 and 5.3/4 flip the card over so the other 8′ side is now at the top and notch the same to points as before.
Score along 3.1/2 side at 1.3/4
11 x 3.3/4 card for the long panel
Score along 11′ side at 2.3/4, 5.1/2 & 8.1/4
3 pieces 5.3/4 x 5.3/4 patterned paper to decorate the front and the inside.
4 pieces of 3.1/2 x 2.1/2 for the long panel.
My paper is old Stampin Up ‘Party Animal’
My Happy Birthday die is unbranded from China and my Bunting die is by Sweet Dixie
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.
As you can see I made quite a few testing out other peoples videos.
I hope you liked mine.
Happy crafting
Sam

creative card series 1 the twist and pop card has the wrong scoring measurements for the 11 3/4 in. panel …when I used your measurements my last section was way to big so I folded it in half then quarters… so I got new measuremnts of 3, 5 7/8, and 8 6/8….im not trying to be smart just stop others from making wrong score lines in their good paper….
This is the second card of yours I have done and the instructions were easy and the cards are great….
Hi Jean I’ve checked my video as you are the first person to raise an issue with the scoring. I’m not quite sure with your measurements. Its an 11′ piece so if you fold that in half you get 5.1/2 and then fold again you get 2.3/4 pieces that’s exactly what I say and do in the video. Apologies if I’ve miss understood you. x
Thank you Jean x
Love your cards. Your instructions are fabulous and easy to follow. Have completed the stand and slide card. Looking forward to doing this one. Thank you.
