Hey, guys, I have an unusual style gift box for you.
This idea is something I ‘CASED’ from this gift bag below.
My husband and I were doing some Christmas shopping and this particular gift was presented in this adorable box at no extra cost. I was so delighted and the poor sales adviser probably thought I was rather strange with my excitement. Straight away my husband said ‘you have to make this’
Here is my take on it.
I’ve adapted a few things and put my stamp on it, I also made a pretty plait handle which I think really finishes it off nicely.
To make these you will need…
2 pieces of 7.1/2 x 10.1/2 card.
Score along the 7.1/2 side at 3.1/2 & 7
Score along the 10.1/2 side at 3.1/2 & 7
4 pieces of 3.1/4 x 3.1/4 patterned paper.
3 pieces of approximately 20′ ribbon for the plait.
Circle dies and sentiment for the front.
My sentiment was from an Ultimate Crafts stamp set for Creative Stamping Magazine and you can still buy their back copies. This is a huge A4 page of stamps and highly recommend them and the magazine.
My papers were purchased from a shop in China so I’m unable to share any links.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
These are surprisingly very easy and relatively quick to make so please give it a go and remember to share any of your makes either on Instagram using #mixedupcraft or on Facebook using @mixedupcraft.
Happy crafting
Sam

such a beautiful little gift box…love it
This is really clever Sam. Just wondering at what stage would be good to do the curved edge along the top. I have several die cuts or even punches that I think might work depending on when you recommend it be done. Thanks
Very nice thank you for sharing
Your very welcome Dianne x
Crumbs I totally forgot to mention that bit. Best to do it when you have stuck the two pieces of card together and work right across. Depending on what punch you have you may not have a perfect join when you stick the other sides together to form the box but that side could go at the back. x
Thank you x
Thanks for your reply. I will give it a try
