Hi everyone, today’s project is this Tall Ribbon Tied Gift Box.
I ended up using these to hold some tall heavy candles. With the reinforced base and lid, these are perfect for heavier items.
To make these you will need…
2 pieces of 8.1/4 x 8.1/4 card.
First pull your card slightly away from the side of your board and score along the 8.1/4 side at 4″ the push the card back in and score again at 7.7/8.
2 pieces of 8 x 8 card for your lid and base.
Score both pieces at 1″, 2″, 6″ & 7″ on both sides. You will need to hole punch one of these pieces, I used my favourite Xcut Screw Punch
4 pieces of 3.5/8 x 5.7/8 patterned paper to decorate the box. My papers were purchased from The Works UK. I’ve found similar papers here.
4 pieces of 27″ length ribbon. My ribbon was from The Range UK.
Matching card and paper to make a matching tag.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I put them all together.
This is a pretty simple looking box but by adding the ribbon the way I have I think it transforms it.
Hope you enjoy making today’s project.

Gorgeous tall box Sam – really useful size. Can’t wait to have a go making this. x
Hi Sam, this is another great 3D project of yours. I love both colour combos but my utmost favourite has to be the Kraft and black, so classy looking. I love ‘The Works’ too in the UK and it is great if you can get the craft stock if it is available. It looks like you may have bought quite a lot to take back home with you. Thank you for sharing this project with us crafters. :O)
Hi Sam
Thank you for sending me this email with the link to your blog post – Tall Ribbon Tied Gift Box
I watched your video tutorial on You Tube and absolutely loved this 3D project. I wrote a comment on your You Tube Channel and on your blog post. I would love it if you would visit my blog page at some point to give me feed back on any of my projects it is heart-and-crafts.blogspot.co.uk
Thank you Sam I really appreciate this.
Till your next email.

Thank you Lorraine, the Works is great as they sell a lot of good quality stuff and sometimes have discontinued lines from branded UK companies. It’s great for crafters who are just starting up or who have a budget, because there are always such good bargains. As always I have lots to bring back! 😬
Hi Lorraine, I will go and check it out now 😀
