No Heat Foil Technique

Hello, back again…Today’s tutorial was actually due to go live tomorrow but it seems I put in the wrong schedule date!…anyway here are cards I’ve made using the very addictive No Heat Foil Technique.

I had recently seen a tutorial by Jennifer Maguire and she reminded me about all my foils I had stuffed in a draw, with just some double-sided tape or sheets you can create beautiful cards.

To try this technique you will need…

I used mostly some very inexpensive foils I purchased from The Works UK and also some from WRMK & WOW.

My Double-sided tape is by Scotch which I pick up very cheap at Walmart, I also use double-sided sheets from Stix 2 Anything

Antistatic powder or the embossing buddy will also come in handy to remove any sticky areas which the foil may have missed.

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made all the cards.

I also made two other cards using stencils with my sticky embossing powder, foils and my heat gun. This technique allows you to make lots of different patterns but I found the end result not as good as using sticky tape and would just stick to using embossing powders and Versamark as usual with my stencils.

My favourites are the 4 below, I loved making the backgrounds and then die cutting them, the foil against the white background creates a really fresh and clean card.

I also love the mottled effect it gives like you get on antique mirrors, an imperfect look.

Hope you like today’s technique and give it a go. Like I said its very quick to do and so much fun.

Enjoy.

Sam

  1. What fun the blue one is my favorite cause I love blue I was hoping you would make it a birthday card (my birthday is in March) but they are all beautiful but not as much as beautiful as you !

  2. Sam, oh I have just spent the past half an hour or so admiring your cards created from this foil technique and looking at the cards that you created from the backgrounds created in the video tutorial on You Tube. I love the balloon one, I think that is my favourite as the foil is haphazard on the card base before you die cut it out with circle dies. A very close second has to be the roses with the gold foil in them. A very, very classy card Sam. Thank you for demonstrating this technique to us crafters. :O)
