Hi all, today’s project are these awesome large gift bags in the style of a briefcase.
I love a large gift bag and I have made a few now all with different dimensions which can be found on my YouTube channel.
The papers used for the red bag above are from the 12 x 12 Tropicana paper pack by Simply Creative.
Mine was purchased from Create & Craft
The blue bag above was made using the Beyond The Shore 12 x 12 paper pack from First Edition.
Mine was purchased from The Range UK
The yellow bag above was made using the Natures Grace 12 x 12 paper pack from Dovecraft.
I purchased mine from Hobbybcraft
To make these bags you will need…
3 pieces of 12 x 12 card, 2 of these pieces need to be patterned paper and then a plain colour for the other piece.
Score your two patterned pieces at 3″
Which the plain 12 x 12 piece you need to cut two 4″ x 12″ pieces and one 3″ x 12″ piece and then you will be left with a 1″ x 12″ piece.
Score the 4″ x 12″ pieces at 1/2″ & 3.1/2 along the 4″ side and 3″ along the 12″ side. If you want your bag to fold flat then you also need to score at 4.1/.2 along the 12″ side.
Rotate back and again if you want the bag to fold flat score at 2″ down to the 4.1/2 score line you just made.
Score the 3″ x 12″ piece at 1″ along the 3″ side.
Approximately 16″ of ribbon.
The plain 12 x 12 card pack I showed in my tutorial is brilliant and you can find it available on the below websites.
The screw hole punch I used is by Xcut and the best price I can find if from The Range UK
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I put them together.
These are so straightforward to make yet they look really special and perfect for any occasion.
I hope you find this bumper filled blog helpful and inspiring and enjoy some fun crafting this weekend.
Enjoy

As always fabulous tutorial. I love that you always give alternatives for anyone who may not have the tools you use available to them. And that you use affordable items. Thank you.
