Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone, I’ve seen lots of BBQ and Beach pictures this weekend of everyone enjoying the glorious weather in the UK!
It’s been nice to here in China too, with clear blue skies and fresh air!
If you’re still enjoying the sunshine, I doubt much crafting is getting done, however, if your not blessed with sunshine at the moment or hate the sun then maybe you would like to try making my unusual faceted gift boxes.
These are good fun make, a little more tricky but still doable even if you’re new to paper crafting.
I’ve attached this template below showing all the score lines to make it easier for you to see.
These use 1 sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock and because of all the faceted sides and 4 layers of cardstock on the base these boxes are very strong and would easily hold a heavy candle or perfume bottle.
To make these you will need…
1 sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock, I used cardstock from my Papermania Colossal pack available from The Range UK
Score along one of the sides at 3″, 5″, 6.1/2, 8.1/2 & 11.1/2
Score along the other side with the 11.1/2″ score line at the top at 3″, 6″ & 9″ DOWN TO THE SECOND SCORELINE
Then flip the card so the bottom is now at the top and score again at 3″, 6″ & 9″ DOWN TO THE FIRST SCORELINE.
Revert to the template above 🙂
To decorate the box you will need…
1 piece of 2.5/8 x 2.5/8 for your lid.
4 pieces of 5/8″ x 1.1/4
4 pieces of 1.7/8 x 1.1/4
8 pieces of 2.1/2 x 1.5/8
Check out my full tutorial below explaining how to put this together.
I made another style last year for Father’s Day, very similar size but different configuration.
As always thank you for stopping by and happy crafting.
Sam
