Hi everyone, today I have another Father’s Day inspired tutorial.
I’ve made this Chocolate Bar Style Gift Box and filled it with some sweet treats for my dad!
The inspiration for this one came from a card I saw on Pinterest, where the person had a brown card blank and covered it in small brown squares to look like a chocolate bar. It’s such an easy thing to do but looks really effective.
The box took no time at all to make, it was the decoration that I enjoyed doing the most.
The letter ‘T’ on each square is my dads initial and I thought it was a nice way to personalise the gift box.
I used the same Docrafts Papermania stamp set that I used on the Wash Bag & Bottle Caddy and It’s still available on eBay here.
To make these gift box you will need…
1 piece of 9.3/4 x 9.1/2.
Score along the 9.3/4 side at 3/4″, 4.5/8, 5.3/8 & 9.1/4
Score along the 9.1/2 side at 3/4″, 8.1/4 & 9″
18 pieces of 1″ x 1″ squares
Some fun foam to stick the squares and add dimension.
The small First Edition Alphabet dies I used are available from Create & Craft here or from The Range here.
The cardstock I used is from the Dovecraft Premium collection and available from The Range here, or from Amazon here.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.
As I mention in the video, I’m pretty sure you could fit another chocolate bar in the box, alternatively, you may like to make my Sliding Pop Box below and decorate it in the same way as today’s tutorial, as this style was made to fit a large bar of Cadbury’s chocolate.
Also, you can make lots of these and keep them stored flat, just don’t stick down the button until you need them.
Plain or decorated, I think these look great and would make great party favours.
Thank you for stopping by.
Happy crafting.
Sam

Fantastic idea, got to try these x
This is really not about the chocolate box even though I think it’s adorable and a great way to give chocolate, I was hoping you know how to make a hat box. One that really holds a hat. My daughter has a Lady Gaga hat from her concert and needs a box to store it. I could buy one but would rather make one. I can’t find any tutorial on paper hat boxes. Thank you Sam for all your fabulous tutorials I just made both of your expanding files for my husband for Father’s Day and I love them.
This is brilliant Samantha, love it xx
This is so cute Sam. What a lovely idea. A couple of Hershey bars would be perfect in that as well. My mind is moving now! TYFS
Hello, sorry I havent been getting notifications on my blog.
Because hat boxes are so big and circular, a lot of card is needed and bigger then 12″ x 12″ which myself and many others dont have. You also need the strengh and longivity, I’m not saying it cant be done, but its a big task and not easy to do. Sorry I couildnt help this time. Sam 🙂
