Hello everyone, it’s been ages since I’ve made a nice strong gift box, so I decided to make this flip lid style using some of my new Christmas paper.
This is reinforced and a great size making it perfect for heavier gifts.
My colours are not traditional one bit and the green box can easily be used for a birthday gift by just removing the image topper on the front.
I made the matching bow in the same way I made the big bow in previous videos. I’ve shared that one below if youve missed it.
I used the new Paper Addicts ‘Magicial Stories’ pad available from Amazon here.
This is a great colourful pad and many of the papers can be used all year round!
I fussy cut this image from one of the papers.
To make these boxes you will need…
2 pieces of 5.3/8 x 82 pattern paper for the front and back.
2 pieces of strong 3.3/4 x 8″ pattern cardstock for the sides.
2 pieces of 8″ x 9.1/2 plain cardstock for the lid and base.
Score both pieces at 1″ & 2″
4 pieces of 3/4″ x 8″ plain cardstock for the hinges.
Score along the 3/4″ side at 3/8″
4 pieces of 3/4″ x 5.1/4 silver card to mat on the front and back of the lid and base.
4 pieces of 3/4″ x 3.3/4″ silver card to mat on the sides of the lid and base.
4 pieces of 1/2″ x 5″ coloured card to layer on the front and back of the lid and base.
4 pieces of 1/2″ x 3.1/2 coloured card to layer on the sides of the lid and base.
1 piece of 3.3/4 x 5.1/4 silver card to mat on the top of the lid.
1 piece of 3.1/2 x 5″ plain card to layer on the top of the lid.
To make the bow you need approximately 27 strips of 1/2″ x 3″ pattern paper for bow and one piece of 1″ x 2″ for the centre.
