Awesome Concertina Back Pack Gift Bag!

Hello friends, today I’m sharing this awesome Concertina Back Pack Gift Bag!

Awesome Concertina Back Pack Gift Bag!

I made a brilliant backpack over 2 years ago and so many of you have made and enjoyed that one that you have been asking for me to make another.

I wanted to change things up a little so I’ve added these really cool concertina folded sides.

This gives the bag a great look and style.

For the closure and detail, I used the Ultimate Back-Pack dies by Simply Made Crafts but as I mention in my tutorial you do not need these dies to make this project.

I do love the buckler detail on this one and I think the straps on the back look really cool.

SUPPLIES USED TO MAKE THIS

I used papers from a Craft Sensations 12″ x 12″ paper pad from The Range, unfortunately, I cant see these online so you will need to visit your nearest store.

Simple Made Crafts Ultimate BackPack die set available here.

MEASUREMENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS

I used 2 pieces of 12 x 12 double-sided strong paper to make this.

2 pieces of 7″ x 12″ pattern paper for the front and back.

Score along the 12″ side 4″

2 pieces of 5″ x 12″ pattern paper for the sides.

Score along the 12″ side at 4″

Score along the 5″ side at 1/2″ & 4.1/2 and then at 1″, 1.1/2, 2″, 2.1/2, 3″, 3.1/2 & 4″ down to the first score line.

I piece of 5″ or 4″ x 7″ pattern paper for the lid.

Score along the 5″ or 4″ side at 1/2 and 1″, if you would like the lid to just curve over the bag so it can expand, then DON’T score at 1″.

2 pieces of 1″ x 12″ for the long straps.

1 piece of 5/8″ x 8″ for the top handle.

2 pieces of 5″ x 3/4″ for the long front fastenings.

2 pieces of 1.3/4 x 5/8″ to go across the top of the front fastenings

2 pieces of 1.1/4 x 1/4″ for the long fastenings to slide under to close to backpack, you may want to make these longer so 1.1/2 x 1/4″

If you want to make the tassel, you will need 1 piece of 1.1/4 x 4.3/4

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.

If you would like to see the other one I made 2 years ago or the one using the dies I’ve attached those tutorials below.

I’m really pleased with how these have turned out and can’t wait to give them to my friends.
