Hello friends, today I’m excited to share this beautiful card using the brand new Dovecraft ‘Paper Posies’ collection.
I couldn’t wait to use this new product as soon as it dropped through my door!
I wanted to make a card that would show off the papers well and thought this style would work perfectly.
I first came across this card style when I was asked to do it for a magazine commission, and saw an older tutorial by a channel called Die Sternenkarte, the tutorial is in a foreign language but her Christmas versions are very nice. I’ve shared her channel here if you would like to see her version.
The card above is made from an A6 size card blank.
This one is from a 5″ x 7″ card blank
And this one from a 6″ x 6″ card blank.
I personally prefer the rectangle card blank ones, so the A6 & 5″ x 7″ ones, but they all look fantastic on the mantle and will definitely wow your friends.
You have lots of room on the back to stamp and write your message and they fold down flat and will fit in a custom envelope. I do however think, and I mention this in my tutorial below, that you will probably need to send some assembly instructions for this card or a little picture of the card made up.
SUPPLIES USED TO MAKE THESE CARDS

Dovecraft Silver Mirror card available here.
WRMK Envelope Punch Board available here.
MEASUREMENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE CARDS
For the 5″ x 7″ size
One 5 x 7 card base or a piece of 10″ x 7″ card folded in half.
2 pieces of silver mirror card, cut both pieces from top left to bottom right.
2-4 pieces of pattern paper depending on whether you want different patterns like I did. Cut 1 piece from top left to bottom right and the other top right to bottom left. If you want them all the same then you just need to cut 2 pieces of pattern paper from top left to bottom right.
Cut the slots on both sides at 3.1/2 from the bottom up.
Toppers and embellishments to decorate.
For the 6″ x 6″ size
One 6′ x 6′ card base or a piece of 12″ x 6″ card folded in half.
2 pieces of 5.1/4 x 5.1/4 silver mirror card, cut in half on the diagonal.
2 pieces of 5″ x 5″ pattern paper cut on the diagonal.
Cut the slots on both sides at 4″ from the bottom up.
Toppers and embellishments to decorate.
For the A6 size
One A6 card base or a piece of A4 card cut in half along the long side and then folded in half.
2 pieces of 3.3/4 x 5.1/4 silver mirror card, cut both pieces from top left to bottom right.
2-4 pieces of 3.1/2 x 4.7/8 pattern paper depending on whether you want different patterns like I did. Cut 1 piece from top left to bottom right and the other top right to bottom left. If you want them all the same then you just need to cut 2 pieces of pattern paper from top left to bottom right.
Cut the slots on both sides at 3″ from the bottom up.
Toppers and embellishments to decorate.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.

WOW! This card packs a punch. I just love it and would like to make a few, however, could someone tell me what the measurements are of the A6/A4 that you use. I’m in the US and don’t know those measurements. Really really want to make these cards. They are just beautiful. Thank you Sam for an incredible card!!
Hi A4 card is 8.27 inches by 11.7 inches… A6 is 4.1 inches by 5.8 inches. So half an A4 is 4″ x 5 1/2 which is close to the A6 size..Hope this helps
Thank You Lorraine….think I got it. I just want to make this one really bad….I love it…Actually the A4 is close to our (US) size, which is 4 1/4X5 1/2. So I could use that. Another question, would you know the measurements of the mirror and DSP for the 5X7. The measurements are above for the 6X6 & A6, but lacking for the 5X7… Thank you again….
