Floating Gatefold Cards

Hi friends, it’s me again!

Today I’m sharing the Floating Gatefold Cards I made the other week.

By adding two small panels on each side, you can completely transform a simply Gatefold card.

I was requested to make this card style by a few people and I believe it was originally designed by Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts. I decided to make a 5 x 7 version using the dies from my Garden Delights Twist & Pop collection.

The card is held together with a matching belly band.

SUPPLIES USED TO MAKE THESE CARDS

Made To Surprise Scenes paper pad available here.

MEASUREMENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE CARDS

1 piece of 10″ x 7″ card for the main card base.

Score along the 10″ side at 2.1/2 & 7.1/2

4 pieces of 2.1/4 x 6.3/4 pattern paper to mat both sides of the gatefold part.

2 pieces of 4.3/4 x 6.3/4, 1 pattern piece for the front, and 1 plain piece for the back to stamp and write your message.

2 pieces of 3″ x 1/2″ card for the pop up floating pieces to lay on.

Score along the 3″ side at 1/2″, 1.1/2 & 2″

2 square pieces of 2″ x 2″ card for the floating pieces.

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.

As with all my cards, you have plenty of space on the back to stamp and write your message.
