Hi everyone, for this weeks Handbag Series project I’ve made this cool Barrel Style Gift Bag.
I was inspired by a Louis Vuitton version from 1998!
I’ve left this quite simple, but I plan to personalise this and maybe add a flower to it when I decide to gift it to a friend.
I added some plastic embellishments for a ‘hardware’ look and some wooden feet to stop the bag rolling over.
SUPPLIES USED TO MAKE THIS GIFT BAG
Dot & Dab, Hook & Loop pads available here.
12 x 12 card from Tonic Studio.
I can’t find the wooden ‘feet’ or the embellishment disc’s I used.
MEASUREMENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS GIFT BAG
4.1/2 diameter circle to score around.
1-2 pieces of 10′ x 11′ card for the main gift bag, you can reduce the 10′ side if you want a shorter bag.
2 pieces of 6.3/4 x 10.1/8 (the length of your bag) for the lid.
Score along the 6.3/4 side at 1.1/2
6-8 strips of 1′ x 11′-12′ card for the side and strap detail and handle. Score the handle piece at 1′ at each end.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
