Put together this really cool gift box the other day. I saw some packaging in the supermarket, same closure but much taller. I couldn’t make it that tall but I could make the closure, after staring weirdly at the box in the supermarket it was actually relatively straight forward.
To make this box you will need…
2 pieces of 8.1/4 x 5.3/4
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 4 & 8
Score along the 5.3/4 side at 4.3/4
Then you need to score back along the 8.1/4 side at 1.1/2, 2.1/2, 5.1/2 & 6.1/2 only down to the first score line.
1 piece of 5.1/2 x 5.1/2 card.
Pull the card out from the score board slightly and score at 3/4 on all 4 sides, make sure you pull the card out on each side before scoring.
Something with a curved edge, I used my Xcut Shape Cutter System.
Circle framelits, I used my Scollop Circle Dies
Check out my video tutorial below to see how I made it.
This is such a nice way to update a normal square box. Mine measures 4 x 4 so its really quite big.
Hope you like this one.
Thanks for stopping by.
