I’ve been a little obsessed with making gift boxes this last week and aim to make them in every size possible. Today’s gift box has evolved from my Big Bow Christmas Gift Box posted a few weeks ago, it has been very popular so I decided to make it again with a twist.
I really love these and think they are adorable with the Vintage Butterfly & Vintage Bumble Bee dies from Hobbybase, and of course the huge Big Bow!
To make these boxes you will need…
2 pieces of 8.1/16 x 8.1/16 card for lid and base.
Score at 3/4 & 1.1/2 then pull the card out slightly and score at 6.5/8 & 7.3/8 then rotate the card and repeat.
2 pieces of 10.1/16 x 5.1/2 card for the case.
Score along the 10.1/16 side at 1/2 & 5.1/2
4 pieces of acetate 4.1/2 x 5 I use Crafters Companion
4 pieces of pattern paper 4.3/4 x 5.1/4
Butterfly & Bee dies from Hobbybase
Circle die approx 3.1/4 in diameter.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
This is super strong due to the reinforced lid and base and the acetate gives it a nice sturdy structure also.
This would also make a lovely storage box.
Hope you like this project from me today and remember to share your makes using the #mixedupcraft or share your projects on my Facebook page Mixed Up Craft
Have a nice weekend.
