Hello, I’ve been thinking about weddings today! I had some lovely light green card that reminded me of my sisters wedding day and it inspired me to make a wedding gift box which I thought would also work well as a table favor for guests.
I used the lovely Birdcage die from Hobbybase as I thought the two birds worked well to represent a couple and being together.
I set the die cut into the card rather then sticking it on top as I like the flush finish this gives and also enjoy the process of putting all the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle. I finished it off by die cutting just the birds again in silver glitter card to complement the bow above.
Although it looks like a carton box its actually a normal square box and then I attached the sides with separate card.
To make these you will need…
1 piece of 11 x 8.1/4 card for the box.
Score along the 11′ side at 1/4, 3.3/8, 5.5/8 & 8.3/4
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 2.1/4 & 5.1/2
2 pieces of 5.9/16 x 3.1/8
Score along the 5.9/16 at 3.1/4 & 4.3/4
Bird Cage die from Hobbybase
1 piece of double sided sticky sheet 3.1/8 x 3 I get mine from this great UK company Stix 2 Anything
Ribbon for the box detail and a Peg or Bull Dog clip to fasten it.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
These will look lovely on your wedding tables or as a beautiful gift box for the happy couple.
Hope you liked this wedding inspiration from me today
Happy crafting
