Hi everyone, today is a special day as it the 1st birthday of Mixed Up Craft!
Exactly one year ago today I uploaded my first YouTube tutorial and I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone. I never dreamed it would have gone in the direction it has and 180 tutorials later a DT for Hobbybase and 4 features in different magazines I’m overwhelmed with what I have achieved.
I’m incredibly thankful and owe a lot to my creative mum because it was her who in her craft room showed me lots of fun techniques, card designs and 3D projects & encouraged me to start up my YouTube channel.
Today’s tutorial is inspired by one that my mum sent me a few years ago and so I thought it was very fitting to do it today.
Diamond Fold Card
This fun fold card is very easy to make yet has a real wow factor, perfect for that special person.
To make this card you will need…
1 piece of 12 x 4 card
Score along the 12″ side at 2″, 4″, 8″ & 10″
You then need to score further without your scoreboard, see my template below.
All the pencil lines are what you need to score and burnish, no cutting involved with this piece.
3 pieces of 2.5″ x 2.5″ patterned paper.
You need to cut 1 piece in half on the diagonal to form two triangles and the other two you need to cut into 4 pieces on the diagonal to form 4 smaller triangles.
2 pieces of 1.3/4 x 3.3/4 patterned paper to decorate the two side panels.
Sentiments, die cuts and embellishments to decorate.
The die-cut squares I used on the front are 3.1/2 x 3.1/2 & 3 x 3
The envelope size of this card is a 5 x 5 as the card measures 4.5/8 x 4.5/8. I followed the directions on my Envelope Punch Board for a 5 x 5 card.
