Unusual Gift Boxes & Bags

Large Sweet Wrapper Gift Box

Hi everyone, me again!

I’ve been busy today, getting everything in place before I head to visit my wonderful nan for a week.

I hadn’t planned on uploading so much over the last few days and already have a ton of videos already scheduled on YouTube, but I received my Hobbybase Club February kit on Friday and couldn’t wait to start making stuff with it.

You may have seen the Mini Sweet Wrapper Gift Box I made with some of the papers from the kit, well as soon as I had made it I knew I wanted to make it bigger using 12 x 12 papers.

I used the wonderful DoveCraft, Nature’s Grace papers by Trimcraft and matching Rosettes and Bird sticker to decorate.

I also used some gilding wax in the tutorial, I tried looking up the ones I had but couldn’t find them, however, Creative Expressions have a wonderful range of  Cosmic Shimmer gilding waxes which I also have.

To make this gift box you will need…

1 piece of 12 x 12 paper

Score along one side at

3.1/2 & 8.1/2

Score along the other side at

1.7/8, 5.7/8, 7.3/4 & 11.3/4

Approximately 2 lengths of 16″ ribbon.

Die cut letters or sentiment to decorate.

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I put it all together and where you need to cut the sides.

Nature’s Grace collection is so lovely I’m really pleased I got it along with the matching accessories.

  1. Hi Sam,

Thank you for sending me this email today with the link to your blog post – Large Sweet Wrapper Gift Box

I watched the second tutorial on You Tube because I knew that you would not have just done the same 3D project but just bigger there would be extra techniques or products used in decorating the bigger project that the first video tutorial did not show.

Also I was listening to Jennifer McGuire yesterday and she recommended this for the top of glue pots if you don’t like the small refillable bottles.

It is supposed to fit on all sorts of bottles of adhesive and it has the pin in the lid.

    Hope this is useful

    Till next time

  2. Sam, your Nan is going to love this project that you have made her. I love the decoration on the outside and the chosen 12×12 DSP chosen to make it in too. :O)
