Hello everyone, I’m back with project number 2 of my Mothers Day Series 2018.
Large Expanding Clutch Bag
This project was inspired by the Concertina folder I made last year, I wanted something bigger than the last clutch bag I made as I wanted this to hold a rolled up magazine. At 12″ in length this does just the job.
I love the detail of these flowers and the elegant look they give.
To make these you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 12″ card for the main case, score at 5″ & 7″ along one side.
1 piece of 4″ x 12″ for the lid, score along the 4″ side at 1″ & 1.1/2
2 pieces of 4.7/8 x 6″, score along the 6″ side at every 1/2″
The paper used today is the First Edition, Beyond the Shore 12 x 12 pack, available from Hobbybase UK.
Lots of pre-cut or die-cut flowers.
Embellishments of your choice.
Velcro dots, mine are the brand Velcro and are available on Amazon.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
This is very straightforward to make but it looks like its had hours spent on it.
Thank you for popping by today and remember to tune in again tomorrow for another fun project.

What a fabulous idea Sam, I no longer have my Mum or Mother-in-law but it is my friend’s 50th in March and I know she would love to get a present in a bag like this. I just need now to find a present to go inside the bag. Thank you for sharing this with us crafters. :O)
Hi Sam,
Thank you for sending me this email with the link to your latest blog post – Large Expanding Clutch Bag
I watched your You Tube video tutorial and was amazed by how real this clutch bag looked. I wrote a comment and left it on your You Tube channel and on your blog post.
I have a friend’s 50th birthday coming up and as I have not longer go my Mum or Mother-in-law I thought perhaps I could make one for my friend. She would love it as shoes and handbags are her thing, especially if they are red. All I need to do though after making it will be finding a present that will fit inside.
Thank you for sharing such a fantastic project with us crafters, Sam.
Till your next email.
