Pretty Gate Fold Shadow Box Card

Hi everyone and happy Monday.

Today I have a very pretty shabby chic project.

I was super pleased with how well this turned out and it was nice creating a different style.

How to make a Gate-fold Shadow Box Card

The gatefold finish and belly band detail finish this project off perfectly.

To make this you will need…

1 sheet of 12 x 12 strong paper or card.

Score at 3/4″, 1.1/2, 2.1/4, 3″, 9″, 9.3/4, 10.1/2 & 11.1/4.

Score the above score lines again on the other side of your paper. The go back to the original side and score at 3.3/4 & 8.1/4 but only down to the second score line, repeat this on the opposite side to this.

Watch my full tutorial below to see this in more detail and where you need to cut.

2 pieces of 3.3/4 x 6 card for you gate fold part.

Score along the 3.3/4 side at 3/4″

4 pieces of 2.3/4 x 5.3/4 pattern paper to decorate.

1 piece of 1″ x 12″ for your belly band.

My pattern paper is the Dovecraft Natures Grace collection from Hobbycraft

The puffy stickers I showed are also available at Hobbycraft

I have found the paper flowers I used on eBay

Die cuts, sequins & embellishments to decorate the belly band.

The gold Doilies have now sold out from www.everycraftsapound.co.uk

This template is great for so many occasions

  1. Sam, a great project once again. Love the ‘fun fold’ element of this card with its belly band. Always good when you have a card to make for someone special. Thank you for sharing this with us crafters. :O)
