Hi everyone, I’m actually very surprised that I’m even blogging today after arriving back in China yesterday and enduring a 30+ journey, I thought the jet lag would have got the best of me…however, it seems, its Sam 1 – Jetlag 0!
Itching to get back into my craft room and put all my new supplies away and get making I decided to crack open the other goodies I won from Making Cards Magazine.
I received the First Edition Dinosaur dies and Kale washi tube.
Unfortunately, I can’t find anywhere selling the washi tape tube 🙁
Below is the cardI made which is inspired by my mum who slipped a beautiful card into my suitcase when I wasn’t looking!
Mums card
I love all the different washi tapes she used and the mix of colours.
I’ve never worked with Dinosaurs before! and wanted to bring a more modern twist to them, so I thought die cutting them in my Hunkydory gold mirri card from Hobbybase Uk would work really well, also by doing this its made the card suitable for both boy and girl.
It’s a 7″x 5″ card and I just took a piece of 4.3/4 x 6.3/4 and put strips of the different washi tapes and stuck them down right next to each other.
I die cut all 3 Dinosaurs first from white fun foam to give them dimension and lift them off the page and then again in the gold mirri card.
The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is by Dovecraft and I purchased this from Hobbycraft.
I die cut some leaves with more washi tape, sticking only the very ends down so the hang freely on the card.

I hope you like this card from me today and the fun background I’ve created using washi tape.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Sam

Love the dinosaurs and the card from your mum. It’s a very grown up dinosaur card, perfect for an adult who’s a kid at heart!
