Hi everyone, I’ve finally found a minute to sit down amongst all the boxes & the moving chaos to write today’s blog post.
I’ve made these easy “M” fold cards by complete accident as I had intended to make a “Z” fold card!
In case your not familiar with a “Z” OR “M” fold card here’s a side profile, as you see it looks like the letter “M”
As with most of my cards, I try to make them easy and this one certainly is.
I used some of the supplies from my June Hobbybase kit.
This months box was called “Bee Happy” and was full of cool products.
If you would like to find out more about the Hobbybase Club or to subscribe to the monthly kits please visit www.hobbybase.club
Check out the unboxing video below.
To make these cards you will need…
6 x 6 card base or 1 piece of 12″ x 6″ cardstock and score along the 12″ side at 6″
1 piece of 5.3/8 x 12″
Score along the 12″ side at 5.3/4 & 8.7/8
1 piece of 5.1/4 x 5.1/4 to mat the inside of your card.
1 piece of 5″ x 5″ to mat of the front of your card.
1 piece of 5″ x 2.3/4 for the very front fold.
1 piece of 4.3/4 x 2.1/2 to layer on top.
Most of the supplies used are from the kit however you can some of the supplies I used below.
Papers used are the Dovecraft “Bee Happy” range from Hobbybase
The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is also by Dovecraft and available from Amazon.
The Bumble Bee & Flower die are Xcut Dinky dies both available from Hobbybase.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
This card has so much dimension and different layers to it, it will certainly stand out from the others.
As always I try to make my fun fold cards fold flat and fit into normal envelopes, this one fits into a 6 x 6 envelope.
I also had fun playing around with the Dye Izink colour Meil that we received in the kit. Having never used them before I really enjoyed creating all the different tones of colour and will certainly be looking into getting some more colours as they are very easy to use.
Once again I hope you have enjoyed today’s tutorial and give it a go, remember to share your makes over on my Facebook page Mixed Up Craft.
Happy crafting.
Sam

Love this card Sam – the colours are gorgeous and summery and the layers make it look really special. I like the look of your tweezers too – can you tell me what kind they are? Thanks, Margie x
Love this card. I just wonder if it could be made in the “normal” size but I am loving the idea of such a stunning card in 6 x 6 – would make such an impact. OMG a stunning card. Going to try but I am a learner so………
In the UK 6 x 6 & 5″ x 7″ are “normal” cards and my preferred card size. Hope you had fun trying it 🙂
Oh Sam I am just loving your fun fold series. Please keep it coming. I did actually make the M Fold card and gave it to a friend who is travelling hard following the passing of her husband 6 months ago. Actually am loving the 6 x 6 cards now. You have converted me.
The Easy Pull Accordian card – such a fun card to make and sooooo easy.
Thank you for sharing your craft with us. I am absolutely enjoying your projects. My first project of yours was the Oriental Purse and wow what a stunner – gave to two (2) professional crafters and I blew their mind. Well, you did.
Warm Wishes: Mal
Just had ago at making this card. Fabulous design, thank you. Going to use the design for my Christmas cards this year. Had to adjust attaching the M fold part as only had A4. But worked just fine. Thank you.
Hi Mal, thank you for your comment. I love that “M” fold card and the Oriental Gift Bag is still a favourite of mine. Glad you enjoyed the series, I love doing them x
Brilliant Alison, I love that you have adapted it to make it work for you. They will make lovely Christmas cards x
