Hello everyone, today’s card and my 5th project for this year’s Creative Card Series is this easy
Twist & Fold Card
I think this card is awesome, such a quick simple process to achieve this great look.
I stumbled across this card on YouTube by Patsy Waggoner and you can find her tutorial here.
I love the unique shape and pocket detail.
I used the papers and flowers from my June Hobbybase kit “Bee Happy”
This card has such a cool profile when opened, as you can see I had made a tag for one of the cards or you could use the pocket to hold a gift card or mini gift.
To make this card you will need…
1 pieces of 6″ x 12″ cardstock for your main card base.
Score from the bottom left corner across to the top right corner.
Mark with a pencil at 4.1/2 along the top 12″ side coming in from the left and then mark again at 4.1/2 along the bottom 12″ side coming in from the right.
2 pieces of 5″ x 6.1/8 pattern paper for the large front and inside sections.
1 piece of 3″ x 6″ plain coloured card to mat on the front of your triangle pockets.
1 or 2 pieces 2.3/4 x 5.3/4 of patterned paper, if it’s directional paper you will need 2 pieces.
1 piece of 10.1/8 x 10.1/8 paper for your envelope. Follow the 5.1/2 x 7″ (A7) card size on your envelope punch board.
Anything you want to decorate, as mentioned earlier my supplies are from the June Hobbybase kit. If you would like to find out more about joining the club and receiving monthly kits please visit www.hobbybase.club
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
I loved the grey and light green tones of this card.
The “Friends” wood veneer is from my own stash and I wanted to show you how to heat emboss them in any colour you want, this is a great way of matching them to your projects.
Finished off with a matching envelope.
As always I hope you enjoyed today’s card and this weeks Hobbybase Kit project.
See you again on Thursday.

Hi just a heads up Sam, you refer to the matts as 6 1/4 when the measurement is stated as 6 1/8.. This series is great as I have made all of them for my August birthday card list. Cheers L x
Thank you. Another great tutorial. Have a good rest of the day.
Thank you Alison x
I caught that too Lorraine about the discrepancy of size of the larger mat. The beginning of the video when the size of the layers are given as well as the blog post mention 6 1/8 but 6 1/4 is mentioned later in the video when the mats are being created. I only mention as I’m having problems with those mats. Even after I made the 3 3/4 change they don’t seem to come out right. I’ve tried several times. I may be having a bad pattern of failures,
as I didn’t seem to get the butterfly pop box right either. Ho hum…:).
Love your cards!!! How do you make the flowers for the flower pot card? I love it.
Oh dear! Sorry only going through my blog comments now. Let me check and I will get back to you 🙂 x
Flower pot card?
No worries…I plotted the card out on my cricut and with some slicing and dicing (LOL) I created a mat that works out well. I love your cards and make quite a few!!!!! Thank you for all your tutorials and insights and of course designs.
That’s great Mary, glad you managed to make it work for you. Thank you, I’m glad your enjoying my channel and blog 🙂 x
