Hey everyone, I don’t usually blog on a Saturday but seeing as today is World Cardmaking Day I had to share these cards I’ve made.
If you’re not aware of World Cardmaking Day or want to know how and why it began I’ve shared some info I pulled of the internet for you to read.
This Easy Pop-Up Card was lots of fun to make and I really enjoyed creating the little scene with the Birthday Panda.
Pop-Up cards can be difficult to make or you need a die for them but this way is very easy and equally effective.
The Pop-Up mechanism is very straightforward and can be made in any size, you can also stack on top of it to create a completely different look.
Both cards are 6 x 6 but as I mention in my tutorial you can but the Pop-Up part into any size card you like. They also fold flat and you can add a belly band if you wish.
To make these cards you will need…
1 pre-made 6 x 6 card base or a piece of 12″ x 6″ cardstock, score along the 12″ side at 6″ and fold in half.
3 pieces of 5.3/4 x 5.3/4 patterned paper to decorate the front and both inside sides.
1 piece of 4.1/2 x 4.1/4 white card for your mechanism, score along the 4.1/2 side at 1/2″, 1.1/2 & 3.1/2
1 piece of 1″ x 4.1/4 and 2″ x 4.1/4 of pattern paper to mat over your mechanism.
Die cuts and embellishments to decorate.
I used the First Edition “Let’s Celebrate” papers from Trimcraft, these are available from The Range.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.
These fun papers also make for a cute top folding card.
I hope you like my cards I’m sharing today and Happy World Cardmaking Day.
