Hello everyone, my recent scrapbook layout was a little special, this one was a gift to my wonderful Nan for Christmas.
My Nan loves my scrapbook layouts and watching my mini videos, so I wanted to make her a special one that she can display.
This is an 11.1/2 x 11.1/2 layout which fits perfectly in this 12″ x 12″ shadow box frame I purchased from The Works.
This box has small screws on the insides which I removed along with the acetate window as I wanted an open box. You can also find these boxes on Amazon, eBay and in Hobbybase.
I first painted the whole frame with white paint and then distressed it with the Tim Holtz dark brown Crayon. I was surprised at just how well the crayon worked. I then rubbed some of my Cosmic Shimmer Gold paste over the top as my Nan loves sparkle.
Can you spot the tiny cup & saucer?
I really enjoyed creating this layout. I used the V&A 2 collection which worked perfectly for my vintage theme.
Shop all the collection at Craft Stash.
There was a lot of distressing in this album as you can see well below. Ripped and ink-stained papers using the Tim Holtz “Burlap” Oxide Ink.
I added a metal key, wooden embellishments, smaller paper flowers, sequins and Nuvo drops.
I added one of the V&A pegs and a couple tags on the outside of the frame and stamped my great-grandparents and nans name. Its a family joke as to why Alburt is spelt the way it is!
You can see in the picture below some old sheet music which I ripped and distressed. My nan loves music so I wanted to add this in somewhere.
Check out my process video below to see how I made this.
I added the bunting and think it finishes off the frame perfectly.
There is so much to going on in this layout and I hope you enjoy looking through the photos.
Happy crafting
Sam
