Hi everyone, today I’m sharing these unusual Diamond Gatefold cards.
You all know I love a fun fold card and I’m always looking at ways to create new folds or adapt folds that have already been done.
I got this idea after seeing a version created by Debbie Henderson, hers was smaller and a little different so I decided to create a 5″ x 7″ & 6″ X 6″ version and also added a pocket holding a panel for you to write your message.
Both sizes fold completely flat and fit into a 5″ x 7″ or 6″ x 6″ envelope.
To make these cards you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 12″ double-sided pattern paper. I used papers from the new First Edition Gardenia paper pad available from Amazon.
For the 5″ x 7″ size card.
Fold the card stock as I show you in my video below and score at 3.1/2 & 6″, then flip and score at 3.1/2 & 6″, then rotate and score at 6″
2 pieces of 3″ x 3″ pattern paper to decorate the front diamond shapes, this is optional.
1 piece of 4.1/4 x 5.1/4 to mat the inside of the card.
1 piece of 3.3/4 x 4.3/4 to layer on top.
1 piece of 4.3/4 x 6″ white cardstock for your panel.
1 piece of 4.1/4 x 5.1/2 pattern paper to layer on top.
1 piece of 3.3/4 x 5″ white paper to layer on top to write your message.
2″ circle die cut to pull the panel out.
Flowers and embellishments to decorate.
***Update these measurements below may be wrong, I’m currently on holiday until the 25th and then I will check when I’m back. Sam 🙂 ***

I really enjoyed making these and I love that there are many ways to change it and make it work for you.
I heat embossed my sentiment and used the Woodware “Big Birthday Words” stamp set from Craftstash.
I think the Daisy flowers look lovely and really stand out on the front diamond sides.
I hope you enjoyed today’s fun fold tutorial and give it a go. Remember to share any of the projects you make inspired by my tutorials over on my Facebook group Mixed Up Crafters.
Happy crafting.
Sam.
