Pop-Up Shadow Box Cards

Pop-Up Shadow Box Card

Hi everyone, today I have this fun Pop-Up Shadow Box card to share with you all.

Pop-Up Shadow Box Card

I made this card back in November in a smaller version and you can find that tutorial at the end of this page. The twist for this one has come from Jennifer Maguire, where she added the acetate to create the moving “Pop-Up” feature. I’ve added my style and created this 5″ x 7″ version.

This card folds flat and fits nicely into a 5″ x 7″ envelope.

I used the very sweet First Edition “Under The Sea” dies and Dovecraft “Rainbow” holographic cardstock.

Shop the dies here.

I love all the detail in these dies.

To make these cards you will need…

1 piece of 7″ x 7″ white card stock for the front of the card.

Score along one side at 1″ & 6″ then flip the cardstock and score at 1/2″ and 6.1/2

1 piece of 7″ x 7″ coloured card stock for the back of the card.

Score along one side at 1″ & 6″ then flip the cardstock and score at 1/2″ and 6.1/2

Strong acetate for the Pop-Up mechanism.

Any shaped dies for the window, I used the Tonic Studio Nesting Oval dies.

Stamps, die cuts and embellishments to decorate the card.

Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.

You have plenty of room on the back of the card to stamp your sentiment and write your message.

This is a very easy card to make any size you like and it stands up perfectly on its own.

Heres my tutorial for the other version I made last year.

I hope you are enjoying the cards I am sharing this week.

Happy crafting

  1. I love these cards Sam. I have watched J.M’s video on this type of card too. But, for myself, I do prefer the 5 X 7 size. Now must go think of what to decorate with and then who to send to! Decisions decisions decisions! Oh my.
