Hi everyone, to kick start this week I thought I would use the Dovecraft ‘Happy You’ collection and make this elegant Bucket Style Gift Bag.
I wanted to make something luxurious and shiny and the ‘Happy You’ collection is just perfect.
You can close these gift bags two ways, one with the sides folded outwards, as shown above, or folded inwards, as shown below.
I like both ways, as both give completely different looks.
I used my new Christina Griffith Oval Stitched dies to make the handles. These dies are brilliant, not only are they huge and you get a large range of sizes, but they are also double-stitched, giving your projects a really nice finish.
These dies are available from Craft Stash here.
The beautiful fern detail is made using the Bright Rosa ‘Fern Border’ dies.
Available from Craft Stash here.
I love the mix of Rose Gold mirror card and the glitter card.
The stamp is from the very popular Craftwork Cards ‘Fashionista’ set, which has now, unfortunately, sold out from Craft Stash.
The mirror & glitter card are both by Dovecraft. The Rose Gold mirrored card is available from Craft Stash here & the Glitter card is available from The Range here
You can find the ‘Happy You’ collection here.
I just love all the texture and shine on these bags.
To make these bags you will need…
2 pieces of 12 x 12 pattern paper for the front and back of the bag.
Score along one side at 7.1/2 & 11.1/2 rotate and score at 8″
1 piece of 9.1/2 x 6.1/8 glitter card for the base.
Score along the 9.1/2 side at 1″ then pull the card out slightly from the side and score at 8.5/8
Score along the 6.1/8 side at 1″ then pull the card out slightly from the side and score at 5.1/8
Mirrored card for the handles and decoration.
Check out my full tutorial below.
These are a great size, and very strong too.
I hope you enjoy today’s gift bag and give it go.
Have a great week
Happy crafting
Sam

Hej Sam,
Love this Bag!
But…do you gave an idea/solution for cutting the handles when you don’t have a large cutting machine (like me)?
Thanks! Marlies
Hiya, you can use a cutting knife and metal ruler and make the handles a square shape. 🙂
