Coloured Water Filled Card!

Hello everyone, ok, so mixing water and paper is generally something we don’t do, however, for this card it was necessary!

Coloured Water Filled Card!

This card was inspired by an old Lawn Fawn one I’ve watched a few times but forgot about it until it popped up again on my YouTube recommendations.

After receiving this cute Otter stamp set I thought I would try this card.

I first made my water-filled pouch and left it hanging so I could guarantee no water was going to leak out of it. I certainly didn’t want all of my hard work getting ruined!

I used my WRMK Fuse Tool to make my pouch, but if you can find some smaller zip lock bags then you won’t need the fuse tool.

You can get the Fuse Tool from Amazon here.

I coloured the cute critters using my Arteza watercolour 12 half pan set, available here.

If you use code MixedUpCraft3 at check out you will receive 10% off valid until September 25th.

The stamp set is called ‘Otterly Fabulous’ and available from Craft Stash here.

To make this card you will need…

Any size card blank, I used 6″ x 6″

1 piece of 5.3/4 x 5.3/4 white card, which I cut an aperture inside to create a frame.

Zip lock bag cut down to 5.1/2 x 5.1/2 to sit behind the frame.

Inks to dye the water.

Die cuts, stamped images, and embellishments to decorate.

Please check out my full tutorial below.

Please let me know what you think of this card style and using water with your cards!

I will definitely be making more.

  1. Thank you for all your wonderful projects and inspiration. I look forward to your posts. Like you, I made a card like this a few years ago and forgot all about it until your post. Back then, instead of water colored by ink, I used Blue Hair Gel that came in a tube that I got from our dollar store. The gel is thicker than water and even appears to have small “bubbles” in it.
