Hi everyone, today I have these Rocket shaped gift boxes to share. These deconstructed boxes are easy to make, and you can have them any height you want.
This tall one measures approximately 11″ tall and 8″ wide, and with its hexagon shape, there is loads of room inside.
This shorter one measures 8″ high and 8″ wide and can be made with the two different cardstocks as I’ve shown or from one piece of cardstock as I’ve listed below.
I wanted some big gift boxes to use the huge bows I had made a couple weeks ago.
PRODUCTS USED TO MAKE THESE GIFT BOXES
Ultimate Big Bow Die available here.
Winter Rose Paper available here.
Rose Gold Mirror Card available here.
MEASUREMENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE GIFT BOXES
FOR THE LARGE TALL VERSION
3 pieces of 8.1/4 x 6.3/4 for the top part. (It can be 8.1/2 if you would prefer a larger tab.)
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 4″ & 8″
Score along the 6.3/4 side at 1/2″ & 4.1/2
Flip back and score along the 8.1/4 side at 1.1/4, 2.3/4, 5.1/4 & 6.3/4
3 pieces of 8.1/4 x 8.1/4 mirrored card for the main box. (It can be 8.1/2 X 8.1/4 if you would prefer a larger tab.)
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 1/2″
Score along the 8.1/4 OR 8.1/2 side at 4″ & 8″
6 pieces of 7.1/2 x 3.3/4 pattern paper to decorate the sides.
1 piece of 7″ x A4 or 11″ for the base. This will be trimmed down more, so watch my video first so you can see how much you definitely need.
FOR THE SMALLER VERSION
If you want to make it from one coloured piece of card and not half and half as I show then you will need…
3 pieces of 10.3/4 x 8.1/4, I mention 8.1/2 in my video but 8.1/4 will save you card as you can cut more from one piece of cardstock.
Score along the 10.3/4 side at 2.1/4, 6.1/4 & 10.1/4
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 4″ & 8″. Then score at 1.1/4, 2.3/4, 5.1/4 & 6.3/4 just down to the 1st scoreline.
1 piece of 7″ x A4 or 11″ for the base.
For the smaller version, I make in the tutorial you will need…
3 pieces of 8.1/4 x 6.3/4 for the top part
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 4″ & 8″
Score along the 6.3/4 side at 1/2″ & 4.1/2
Flip back and score along the 8.1/4 side at 1.1/4, 2.3/4, 5.1/4 & 6.3/4 just down to the 1st scoreline.
3 pieces of 8.1/4 x 4.1/2 for the bottom part
Score along the 8.1/4 side at 4″ & 8″
Score along the 4.1/2 side at 1/2″
1 piece of 7″ x A4 or 11″ for the base.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
I used my Hunkydory Tag punch to make the tag and finished with a wooden star from Simply Creative.
I will be making another one and well share a tutorial in the near future.
These are going to look lovely under the tree.

Another awesome project! Thanks for sharing.
I love these boxes Sam. Especially that you can make them as tall as you’d like for whatever you intend to put inside. I also love that bow, will have to get that die or just make your BIG bow wider and it’ll do the same trick!!! TYFS
