Hello everyone, today I’m sharing these very pretty Pillar Fold Cards
Using supplies from this month’s May “Happily Ever After” Hobbybase kit, I had lots of fun making these wedding cards.
In the kit, we received some gorgeous paper cuts by First Edition. There was a whole sheet of beautiful designs and I choose the cute birdcage above.
This is a great shaped card and measures 5.1/2 x 6″. It also folds flat so it’s easy to post.
This was the first one I did, and I love the turquoise blue and red together.
This one uses the Hobbybase Birdcage die and Bunting dies.
To make these cards you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 6
Scoring along the 12″ side at 1/4″, 1.1/4″, 2.1/4, 3.1/4, 8.3/4, 9.3/4, 10.3/4 & 11.3/4
Make sure you have a 1/4″ strip at either end along your 12″ side. Those are your tabs to form your pillar effect.
1 piece of 3.1/4 x 5.3/4 to mat the inside.
2 pieces of 3/4 x 5.3/4 to mat each pillar.
1 piece of 5.1/2 x 1″ for your strip across the front.
1 piece of 5.1/2 x 3/4 to layer on top of your strip.
1piece of 5.3/4 x 5.1/4 so mat on the very back for your message.
Sentiment and embellishments to decorate.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
I like to make little clusters of interest on my cards, and I really like the Birdcage with the flowers and bow.
